Shiploading technology


As the part of the specialized ship loading and uploading complex, a shiploading machine is designed for the work in natural conditions of open plots in river or sea ports. The shiploading machine provides the stream (conveyor) ship loading and uploading in ship holds. Provided that certain requirements are met, ship loading and uploading of food loads, for example, of grains, is also possible.

The shiploading machine is to be the effective and practical alternative for hopper cranes that are widely used for ship loading and uploading. The price of the shiploading machine is lower than the price of the hopper crane due to the simpler construction and the smaller metal consumption. Moreover, the continuous conveyor feed of the material (unlike the cyclical one) considerably reduces the loading time: 2000-3000 t/hour compared with 500-1200 t/hour.

The principle of work

The shiploading machine is the spatial metal construction on four bases that is moved on rails laid along the conveyor gallery of the embarkment.

The shiploading machine is equipped by two ribbon conveyors: the top receiving conveyor and the bottom reloading conveyor that are located inside the outrigger. The loading material is fed on the receiving container from the embarkment's magistral conveyor with the help of the receiving console and the unloading cart. Then, the load is fed to the reloading conveyor and to the ship's hold along the telescopic valve. The operator of the shiploading machine, while changing the working radius and managing the position of the shiploading machine on the embarkment, provides the even decking of the loaded material in the ship's hold.

Metal constructions and mechanisms

The metal construction has the balanced mass and density due to the usage of the modern CAD package in the designing process and to the obligatory power accounting. The framework is made of special alloy steels taking into account climatic characteristics of the exploitation. Certified experts carry out the obligatory testing of seals by non-destructive control methods.

The moving mechanism is four joint (balancing) carts with the individual gear that provides the even distribution of the stress on rails, the smooth movement of the shiploading machine along the embarkment and the automatic elimination of bases' slant. Driving balancing carts are equipped by brakes and anti-theft clutches. The heating system of drive mechanisms for launching at low temperatures is also optional.
